Pioneered by Stanley William Hayter, an English artist associated with the Surrealist and Expressionist movements. This technique involves applying two or more layers of coloured ink to an intaglio print plate, each layer of ink has an addition of Vaseline to lower layer and magnesium carbonate to the top layer thus changing the viscosity of the ink, allowing one to slide over the other without colour contamination.
This is the 3rd variation of this image, and I am enjoying seeing the ways of creating different views from the same image.
