This picture started out as an interpretation of a photograph that was taken of my children in East Brent, but as I started working the natural colours felt too dreary and it didn’t convey the story of optimism for our children’s future, so the sky went crazy and the trees more menacing.
As our children are living through the COVID-19 pandemic, they have all had to grow up faster and their futures look so much different to ours when we were their age. This painting is my solute to all the children of this time climbing the hill of uncertainty.
